Wedding Day

Well, Friday was our big day and it was the hottest day of the summer so far! But we made it through without melting completely.

There was one other couple that got married in the courthouse before we did. It was a very short and simple ceremony. I was so happy that I had tears in my eyes. We had all of our kids with us which made the day even more special.

The judge was nice enough to let the kids sit behind the big desk and pose for a picture with them.

After the ceremony, we went to Shelter Gardens to take family pictures. It was unbelievably hot!! We had several bottles of water to stay hydrated. The lady that took our pictures is from Sears and she is 7.5 months pregnant so I'm sure she was feeling the heat!

We Are Buried In...

Well, the snow finally stopped falling. One weather station said we broke a record snowfall in 24 hours by just over 5"!! Another weather station said we were just under the record by 1/2". The official total is 17.5" at our local airport.

I'm not sure what our official snow total is here at home but it's up to the bottom of my Mountaineer. This is looking straight out our living room window.

Here is a shot looking across the road. Those cars parked in the street are going to have a tough time getting unburied, especially after the plow goes through (whenever that might be). There has been only 1 vehicle that has traveled our cul-de-sac and it was a tall Dodge 4X4 truck.

Snowed In...

They are predicting up to 24" inches of snow ... or MORE!! It started last night with a light freezing drizzle and I think our area missed most of the ice. We are down to one vehicle right now as BF's is out of commission due to the fuel pump went out. Luckily mine is AWD and gets around pretty good. It started snowing about 6:30am and hasn't stopped yet.

These pictures I just took at 4:30pm and although you can't see really well, the area next to the vehicle had been shoveled about 1:00pm and already has about 3" on top of that. Right behind the vehicle the snow is up to the back bumper!!

There is a drift up next to the house that would probably be as tall as my waist.

And I just saw this really neat "drift" on top of the roof.

I don't think we are going anywhere tomorrow!!

A Few Things...

Hi, everyone!

It has been forever since I've posted. Life has just been crazy. Kids are growing so fast. I finally have 1 full-time job working for an insurance agent (I even have my insurance license). Plus, I graduate in May with my Bachelor's Degree!! YEAH!!

Since we are snowed in today, I had some time to upload a few projects I've made. These first 2 pictures are scrapbook pages I made for one of the guys I work with. He and his wife are expecting their first baby any day now.

They were both tickled with these! He told me the next day that they are going to hang them up in the baby's room. I didn't make it to the shower but I was told that when he was getting ready to open my present, some of the girls commented that it would have to be good since "Jenny is so crafty, she probably even made the wrapping paper." Of course, I didn't make the wrapping paper, lol!

The next 2 things I'm going to show you use the same image from DigiStamp Boutique, called Pippa and Sonny with rose (found here). When I saw this couple, I just fell in love! Then while browsing on Splitcoast Stampers, I found a card with the saying that I'm also using on both projects.

I printed out the sentiment on my computer and colored the image with my Prismacolor pencils. I am so proud of the little bow, lol! I used the "fork technique" and it turned out good. The next project uses the same image and sentiment, just in a completely different way.

This has got to be my favorite!! I finally used my Copics (I have a lot more to learn but my selection of colors is limited right now). The bigger hearts on the sentiment panels are the same one that is right above Sonny and Pippa, just bigger and a couple are flipped over. I think I'm going to give this one to my BF for Valentine's Day (but I will take orders, hehehe).

Weekend Getaway

Sometimes it's nice to get away. That's what we did this weekend! My boyfriend's family has property in Hermann, MO and unfortunately it's been neglected this summer due to busy schedules. We made a point to go down this weekend to do some cleaning and mowing. The kids got to explore.

All 4 kids... the two in the blue shirts are mine & the other two are my boyfriend's kids. They range from 11 to 5 and for the most part they all get along pretty good!

My young man just turned 5 in September and I'm late posting these pictures.

I can't remember where I found the sentiment, sorry! I have a hard time making masculine cards but I'm not sure why.

My Big Girl...

My big girl is growing so fast! She started 1st grade today and absolutely LOVED it! Her teacher is a brand new teacher (just graduated in May) and recently married too.

She just had a birthday a few weeks ago, turning 7. My youngest turns 5 next month. Where does the time go??

I am in my 2nd week of classes again. Hopefully I will graduate next spring, at least that is the plan. Plus I'm slowly recovering from my surgery on the 6th. I'm gonna try to do some crafting over the weekend so be on the lookout for a new project or two soon.

This is a quick and simple card I made for a birthday earlier this month.

All I used was my punch and punched 4 flowers out of black cardstock. Then adhered some white gems to the centers before attaching them to the card. I also rounded the bottom corners. I hope Karen liked the card!!

4th of July video

I hope everyone had a fabulous 4th of July! We went to Hermann on Saturday to celebrate my boyfriend's mom's 80th birthday. We did some work as well as relaxing. My boyfriend did most of the work mowing around the cabin and trying to repair an electric fence to keep the cattle out of the "campground" area. His sisters came down and helped out too.

Then on Sunday evening we went to Centralia's celebration in the park. I tried taking some pictures but they didn't turn out so good but did manage to get a video of the grand finale! See video below...

For those of you who have been following my stories, I have a bit of an update... I start a 2nd part-time job tomorrow!! The hours will be opposite of what I'm currently working with the CPA firm. I will be working for an insurance agency as an assistant. Eventually it will turn full-time if it is a fit for both me & my boss. Keep your fingers crossed that all goes well! :)

A Birthday Present

Hi! I actually got some crafting done ... woohoo!!

I found this wonderful project online and thought it would be a great gift for someone. My boyfriend's mom is having her 80th birthday next Tuesday and I wanted to make her something. Her favorite color is peach and found some paper that I had on hand that was close to peachy. Then I found a card that I case'd, here, although I didn't use a crimper to make the lines (I used my Scor-Pal).

Something New ... (and an update)

Sorry I've been away for awhile!! I've missed doing crafts and things on a regular basis. I made something I've been wanting to do for awhile and I think it turned out okay. Think I need to do more of these!

Here are two scrapbook pages that I made. I think they turned out really good! I've only made 3 other pages in my life. :) This first page has a 5x7 spot for a picture of the newlyweds.

This second page has a 4x6 spot for the wedding party and 3 spots that are 3x3 for any pictures they want to include from the reception.

These fit the following challenges (that I know of):

Stamp Something ~ Something Summer challenge (there are lots of summer weddings)
The Sweet Stop ~ sketch (page 1 sort of fits this sketch)

I'm also going to take a plunge and enter it for a Design Team call for "Lasting Memories", call found here. It never hurts to try and if I get selected, that means I'll have to make more scrapbook pages!

If you know of any others that I could enter, please let me know! I've been out of the loop for awhile. :)

Well, I'm still in school and currently working just part-time which sucks!! I start a second part-time job on July 6th that could turn full-time after I'm fully trained that I'm excited about! My classes are not too bad this session. I have 2 papers to write that have to each be at least 5 pages long. Plus I just got diagnosed with Hypothyroidism ... no wonder I've been tired lately! I had it once before but my doctor said it was probably pregnancy related. Well, looks like it's back and I'll be on meds the rest of my life now.

I'm going to try to start posting a little more often if I can.

Sorry it has been awhile since I've posted! The tax season was really busy plus this most recent session at school has been tough! But I took a break today...

Say cheese!! My boyfriend & I took his kids to the St. Louis Zoo today! My kids were with their dad this weekend so they didn't get to go. Below are some highlights of our trip.

I'm Back...

Hopefully I can get into a good routine and post more often! I was surfing some blogs yesterday and stumbled across a great idea for using some old, empty CD cases. Unfortunately, my computer froze up and I can't remember where I saw the original idea.

Here is mine:

The image is from Squigglefly. The sketch comes from Truly Scrumptious (although I used a bow, I didn't add any buttons). For a bit of bling, I added a dew drop to the center of the flower and put Stickles on the butterfly and around the dew drop. On the bottom I have a flower and 3 gemstone brads. The hardest part was trying to figure out how to hang it up. Where the top pivots, we drilled out and then it is all secured with the pink ribbon.

Finally ... a card!!

Wow it has been ages since I've posted anything!! I made 3 cards over the weekend for some challenges. Here is the first one...

I used TAC's Hello Baby for this card. The layout is from Tuesday Morning Sketches (but I missed the deadline) and also fits the following challenge:
Papertake Weekly ~ New Beginnings

Classes have started again and I am looking forward to getting them underway! I have just read the syllabus for each class so far but I have a 5 page paper due in my International Business class as well as 2 cases (not sure about these yet), and 3 tests. In my Auditing class I have 2 tests, 2 papers and 4 problems (not quites sure what these are). I have a good support system behind me now and I know I will do just fine with both classes. These 2 classes start today and run through March 6th. In order for me to graduate in May, I will have to take 3 classes during the next 8 week session and then my last 2 classes in the 8 week session following graduation.

A Long Overdue Update

Wow this last month has been super busy! I am almost settled in now (just have to organize the garage & my craft stuff). There isn't much on the walls yet either but I hope to get that taken care of soon.

Classes are over until January. I passed both classes. If you think online classes are an easy A, you are wrong! I did better in my Accounting class than I did my Microeconomics class. I am looking forward to my next Accounting class ~ Auditing I ~ and I am also taking International Business. My advisor has told me that I could graduate as early as this May!! Woohoo!! BUT... I would have to take an overloaded session in March. But I think I could do that. I have a good support system behind me now and that helps!

I hope to finish up my Christmas shopping on Thursday as I will have my kids all next week and won't be able to shop for them. And I'm going to try to start posting at least a couple times a week again. I should have something posted either later today or tomorrow.

Now I just need to find a job!! :)

Why I've been MIA lately...

I won't bore you with the details but there have been some major changes happen in my life this past week (but they have been building for quite awhile). Most of you know that I am going back to school and so far that is going really well. It's only the 4th week and I've already had 3 tests ~ 2 in my Microeconomics class and 1 in my Intermediate Accounting class, but I think I have one in Accounting this week too.

The biggest change is that I am no longer with Matt. It is a very long story... so to sum it up, I'll say this. In 2007 we got divorced. Due to some bad luck on my part, he let me move back in with him last October. I thought things were going to be different this time around but they weren't. I was very unhappy. We never did get remarried. I found a place and have been moving out this week. The kids are not sure what is going on but they are young and resilient so they will do just fine.

Once I get settled in this week, I will start posting again on a regular basis. Thanks for bearing with me through all of this!

Squigglefly Challenge #25 ~ Gatefold

This week's challenge issued by Kim is to make a gatefold card (instructions can be found here). This was a fun card to make.

For my card, I used a new image from Crissy Armstrong called Mudzie plays Christmas Tree. Looks like he is all tangled up with those lights and sparkly garland. I colored him with my Prismacolor pencils and blended with OMS. For a bit of bling, I used Diamond Glaze on the lights and ornaments and then I added some Stickles to the garland.

The inside is pretty plain except for the sentiment. I used some words from a new Inkadinkadoo set that I got (can't remember the name). Be sure to head over to the Squigglefly Blog to check out the other Design Team creations!

Pumpkin Goodie Bag

Here is the prototype goodie bag we are making for my daughter's Fall Party (this Friday). Another mom and I assembled 18 of these. The kids will be able to attach their own faces, stems and leaves. Then they get to fill a little goodie bag with candy to go inside. :)

Well, school has really kept me busy! I've had to do a lot of refreshing in my Accounting class but it has been fun! The Economics class has been a challenge but I will get it. Looking ahead, it seems like I will have a test or quiz every week! I will try to keep posting things but it might not be more than once or twice a week.

Couple More Desktop Calendars

I'm on a roll with these! Both kids spent the weekend with Grandma so I had some time to craft. I got 3 of these made but I'm only showing 2 because one of them is a Christmas present. :)

This one uses a Sugar Nellie stamp called Daisy. This is one of my favorite images! I used an older sketch from Bloggabella even though it doesn't use a Stamping Bella image. I am really happy with how this one turned out. Hubby even said this one was his favorite.

This one uses the cute Swiss Pixie named Gretel. The paper is the same that I used on one of my picture frames that I recently redid. Sketch comes from the September Guest Designer challenge from Clear Dollar Stamps. Image was colored with my Prismacolor pencils and blended with OMS (I can't afford to make the switch to Copics yet). Added stickles to her wings for a bit of bling and the bow is stuck on the outside of the acrylic frame. :)

Squigglefly Challenge #24 ~ Thanksgiving sentiment

This week is Rhonda's turn to issue the challenge. She wants us to make a Thanksgiving card using a Squigglefly sentiment. I didn't have a sentiment just for Thanksgiving so I got creative...

The leaves are from a new set from Nina called Autumn Accents. I just scattered them over an area (this was a bit tricky but not too bad). Then I printed it out. The sentiment comes from the freebie called Words Paper. I just cropped the word giving out of it and printed that out as well. The layout comes from the Sheetload of Cards October issue.

Classes start today for me! I am getting nervous. They are online classes so I don't have to go to an actual classroom. By my calculations, if I take 2 classes every 8 week session I should be finished with my Bachelor's degree in Accounting this coming summer (2010). I'm taking 2 classes: Intermediate Accounting II and Microeconomics. I will keep those who are interested updated. :)

Sorry I didn't have this posted earlier but I struggled with how I wanted to put this one together. I am really happy with how it turned out, although my picture didn't turn out so well.

This card uses a sentiment "Happy Fall" from Crissy Armstrong and a new set from Nina called Autumn Accents. It is a set of 4 different images. If I get ink for my printer today, I will try to have a card tomorrow showing the 4th image. The picture does not do the card justice at all!

I Met You Frame

Here is another frame that I recycled, lol!

I really like how this one turned out! The paper is from Hobby Lobby. The flowers are on one side and the red is on the other side (how convenient). Again, I ripped the original paper off and sanded then applied this paper. The sentiment is another freebie that Paper Makeup Stamps had out over the summer.

Couple Desktop Calendars

I'm working on some projects for an upcoming craft show on December 5th that I'm doing with a couple friends (Lisa & Diana). These are some super cute desktop calendars that I made...

This first one was super easy to do! I just cut my designer paper to size and inserted it into the acrylic photo frame. I got the calendar from Splitcoast Stampers forum. Then I just added a blue satin ribbon.

I really like how this one turned out! I used an image from The Greeting Farm that I received in a swap over at Splitcoast Stampers. It's called Down by the Pond. Same designer paper as the calendar above. I used the Farm Fresh Friday sketch from Splendid Stamping. Instead of the sentiment, I used the calendar. Then I made two "fork bows" and attached them to the outside of the frame with glue dots.

Squigglefly Challenge #23 ~ Halloween

The Squigglefly challenge this week comes from Kim. Kim gave us a Halloween challenge this week: use a Halloween image plus black, orange & purple cardstock with at least one Designer Paper AND to use a bat, crow or spider embellishment. I managed all of it except the embellishment part.

This card uses the layout from Papertake Weekly and an image from Crissy Armstrong called Roger and Jo's Pumpkin Fun. I printed the sentiment out from the computer changing "Trick" to orange and "Treat" to purple to tie in the cardstock. Roger and Jo were colored with Prismacolor Pencils and blended with OMS. I could not find any bats, crows or spiders to use as an embellishment and I didn't have time to run to the scrapbook store so I added a green bow.

Floral Friend Frame

Well, I've been in a crafting mode this weekend. Haven't gotten lots finished but I've gotten lots started, lol! Here is a frame that I did get finished.

The paper is some that I recently got at Hobby Lobby. I had these frames covered with a different paper and I've been carrying them around to craft shows for the last couple years with no sale. One day last week I decided to rip the paper off and sand them down. I used my Xyron to attach the paper to the frame (much better than Modge Podge). The sentiment was a freebie from Paper Makeup Stamps over the summer.

I will have another frame like this to show you soon!

Squigglefly Challenge #22 ~ Pink & Blue

Well, it's Rhonda's turn to issue the challenge over on Squigglefly. This week she is challenging us to use pink & blue on our creations. Here is my card...

I used one of the most recent images that were released called Shy Bear: Birthday Bear. One of the things I remember about stamping is "there are no mistakes in stamping, just embellishment opportunities". Well, that is the reason I put the ribbon where I did. When I was coloring, I accidentally smeared some of the pencil across the paper. The end of the ribbon is attached to cover that mistake. :)

New Project

I found this really cute Mini Note Purse and printed the instructions. Not sure if you are like me, but the first attempt is always a little scary. Here is my attempt...

I don't think it turned out too bad. Now that I have one completed, I think I will make a few more of these. I might change a few things on the assembly but it went together pretty quickly. The instructions show it holding 3x3 note cards but I think I might put candy or something else inside.

Pictures of Booth

Below you will see pictures of our booth from the craft show yesterday. Overall, it was a very successful day! We were in a different spot this year and it was much better!

We signed up to do another one on December 5th and luckily it's in our town so we don't have to drive although Hatton is only 20-30 minutes from home. We are trying to figure out other ways to organize our booth so it flows a little better. My hubby made the magnet board for us and I think it helped tremendously! I couldn't believe how many magnets we sold. Our next project is to come up with a sort of shelf that we can stand on the table to hold some of the frames that we've done to un-stack them from the table.

Just a Note

I've been working on a few different projects for my craft show coming up this weekend (eeeekkk!) and this is one of them...

I just took a sheet of 12x12 paper and trimmed it down to fit in my printer and printed the word "Notes" on the top in a neat font. This one in particular uses a stamp set that I think is retired from The Angel Company called Funky Girlfriends. I randomly stamped the flower around the outside edge of the paper and colored with my Prisma colored pencils. I stamped a few more flowers on a small piece of paper to attach to the dry erase marker. I will attach a piece of velcro to the marker and then to the bottom of the frame.

I've seen this several different places on the internet and thought it was really great! My plan is to make 3 or 4 more of these before Saturday. Wish me luck that I get them all done! :)

When I saw this elephant from Doodle Beans, I knew it would be perfect for this...

A belated birthday card! I'm sure you recognize the layout ... it's the same one I used here with Oswalda. I got the DP at Michael's and loved the colors in it. The pink around the elephant is the back of the DP. Notice the pink toe nails and the blue eyeshadow? Before printing the elephant out, I added the sentiment. I knew I wanted the sentiment to continue to the inside...

I had some of the DP left over so I made it into a little gift card holder. Normally I don't decorate the inside of my cards but I think it turned out cute!

Squigglefly Challenge #21 ~ Black & White

Well it's Kim's turn again over at Squigglefly to issue the challenge and challenge us she did! This week she wants us to use black and white and no other color. As soon as I saw the challenge, I knew what image I wanted to use but I wasn't sure how I was going to put it together. I just sat down and played a little bit and this is what I came up with...

This is the Old Barn. Well, I'm a bit of a country girl and when I saw this image, it reminded me of those old country barns. I really wanted to add just a bit of color but I restrained myself. I added a black & white plaid ribbon with a very simple bow. The sentiment is from Paper Makeup Stamps and says "Sometimes sorrow is the only truth. ~ Oscar Wilde".

Hippie Anya

Wow, the flu bug sure does take its toll on a person! All week we have been fighting it in our house! First Lilly came home from school on Monday with a fever of 104 so we kept her home Tuesday. Then I got hit with the nasty stuff. It's hit everyone in the house except hubby.

Any way, here is a card that I had made but just hadn't posted yet. This uses a Limited Edition Anya from The Greeting Farm called Hippie Anya. I got her for my birthday. :)

The sketch I used came from Sketch and Stash challenge blog towards the end of August. I've had the DP for a long time and thought the flowers suited Hippie Anya. I added some Prisma flowers and stuck a dew drop in the middle. I'm happy with how it turned out!

Snowman CD Ornament

I've had this idea in my head for awhile but hadn't been able to get one made until this weekend. And I actually made 8 of them!

I've been saving those free CD's that come in the mail and some that I've used but can't reuse. I got some CD labels and decided to create these ornaments. The image is Snowman from Doodle Beans. I cropped the words from the snowman so I could get it all to fit. Once I had the snowman placed, I put the words back on. I colored the snowman with my Prisma colored pencils and masked him so I could sponge around him. Then I went and embossed snowflakes randomly around the edge. Finally I punched the hole in the top with my Crop-a-Dile (made it easy-peasy). I'm also going to take these to the craft show.

If you are a fan of Edwin & Tilda from Magnolia, then you might want to join the Magnolia-licious yahoo site! This card that I'm showing today is the card I made to send to the September Rainees. :) This is a 6 month commitment with a group of 24; each month 4 names are chosen to be "Rained" on with cards that month. It's a fun group and I loved all the cards that I received during my "Rain" month in June.

All 4 cards are the same layout. The only difference is that on 2 the cards are these colors and on the other 2 the colors are reversed (pink is embossed with swiss dots and the image is matted onto green). The layout came from Sweet Sketch Wednesday back in August. I'm going to enter it into the current challenge over on Stamp Something ~ use your favorite colors or papers. I love pink & green together!

It's Official...

I am going back to college! I got the official notice yesterday via email.

I have applied for financial aid and waiting for final approval before I sign up for classes. Plus I have to meet with my advisor. I have an Associate of Applied Science degree in Accounting that I got 12 years ago. I started working on my Bachelor degree back in 2000 but life changes made me put a hold on it. That is an unfinished project that I really want to finish. After I meet with my advisor I'll know how many more classes I need to officially graduate with a Bachelor degree!!

I am in the process of getting ready for a craft show with 2 other girls (Lisa & Diana) in Hatton. It's in a little town with a population of about 50 but one day a year it overflows with thousands! This is their 35th year so I'd say it's doing pretty good. They have horses and tractors pulling wagons toting customers back and forth from their cars to the various locations of vendors.

These are some Trident gum holders that I found a template for years ago. They are fast and easy to make. I've got 20 made and will probably make a few more. Time is running out as it is the first Saturday in October!

My Squigglefly Card (just a bit late)

Well I am just a bit late getting this posted. This week has been pure chaos and hopefully next week will slow back down.

This is the card that I made for Rhonda's challenge over on Squigglefly ~ red, green plus 2 stars. Although I don't have 2 stars, I do have 1 and the red & green. The DP is some that I've had forever. I embossed snowflakes onto the green cardstock. For just a bit of bling, I added Stickles to the snow. The image is Seasonal Trees from Squigglefly.

Speaking of Squigglefly, if you haven't heard the news yet, there is going to be a HUGE announcement on September 19th!! Trust me, you will want to be around to hear this one. Plus I think there will be some sneak peeks beginning on the 16th. I will have more information as it becomes available. :)

The picture is a little blurry and I apologize. I had to move my location and I'm trying to find the best lighting (and least amount of distraction). The black and white swirl paper is a freebie from Doodle Beans. You can find it here. The sentiment is from Paper Makeup Stamps. I believe it was a freebie a week or two ago. I love the colors Black and White plus Red. I matted the sentiment onto red cardstock then added some pearly dew drops for some bling.

Meet Tara...

I got this adorable fairy from the VC Stamp Challenge blog (they used to offer it free). She is colored with my Prismacolor pencils and blended with OMS (odorless mineral spirits). I added Stickles to her wings for some "fairy bling". I wasn't really sure what sentiment I wanted to put on here but I found this sentiment in another set that I had and thought it would be good for lots of things.

Another Gift Card Holder

Here is the project I told you about earlier...

I made this gift card holder using the instructions on the Whimsy Stamps monthly challenge blog, here. The size was just a little odd for me so I added a 4.25" x 4.25" piece of white cardstock behind it. To make it fit in a regular envelope, I punched some holes in the left side of the envelope then added a piece of the purple cardstock to make room for the smaller sized gift card.

The image is from Stamping Bella called Teddybella. I received her in an image swap on Splitcoast Stampers. For a little bit of added dimension, I popped up her belly using pop dots. She was colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with OMS. The ribbon is used to tie the holder closed. I think it turned out pretty good. :)

I meant to post this yesterday but time got away from me.

As of September 1st, I am a proud Design Team member for Doodle Beans Digital Stamps!! If you haven't heard of this stamp company, you need to go check them out! Yes, I'm the only one without a picture but I HATE having my picture taken (if I get enough requests, I will try to get a decent picture taken).

When I found this sentiment over at Paper Makeup Stamps, I fell in love! This sums up how I feel about my hubby!! :) It was a Friday Freebie from their blog (here) so I downloaded it.

I decided to make this into a framed piece of work instead of a card. The colors are from the color challenge over at the Kaboodle Doodle blog and the layout is from Papertake Weekly. I added a bit of color around the words Soul Mates and underlined you for some dramatic effect.

Squigglefly Challenge #16 ~ Circles

This week is Rhonda's turn to challenge us ... use circles!!! It can either be in your image, your paper, your imagination is your only limit! For my card I decided to use some paper that had different color circles on it and the image I used is Broken Teddy.

This is a tent-topper gift card holder. I cannot remember where I found the directions so I'll post the basic measurements: cut cardstock to 4.25" x 10.25". Then score at 4.25" and 8.5". This will leave enough to fold inside to make a pocket for the gift card. The front will measure 4.25" x 4.25". I think you can see the inside better in the next picture. I'm more of a visual person and pictures help!

My Girl is growing up...

My baby girl started Kindergarten this morning!! Here she is just cheesing for the camera. I woke her up this morning and I whispered that today was her big day & up she got!! She kept asking if it was time to go until finally we left. Daddy took the morning off so he could be there too.

She was such a big girl today!

We won't know who her teacher is until Labor Day!! There are 3 different teachers and 50 kids. They are going to rotate the kids to each teacher and then right before Labor Day they will make the final decision as to which teacher the kids will get. I can't wait until she gets home and hear all about her day. I know they were going to have an assembly this morning which she will love! I'll fill you all in with more detail later!

Our Newest Addition...

There is a funny story behind our newest addition...

Hubby and a buddy of his went fishing down on the Missouri River yesterday. Dustin (the buddy) got bait. They fished for awhile and caught a few striper bass and a gar but none were legal. When the day was done, they had some of the bait left over.

Low and behold, our newest addition!! We found a cheap 15 gallon fish tank (via KwikSwap) that came with the gravel, lid and light. Once we got the tank cleaned we put the bait, our new goldfish, into their new home. There's about 10 fish in there (and a couple are pretty good size). The kids think it's pretty cool!! Jake (our boxer) keeps looking at the tank trying to figure out what it is, lol!

Squigglefly Challenge #15

Kim's challenge over at Squigglefly is to use a sentiment only ... no image! I apologize now for the bad picture!! My camera is still dead so I scanned this into the computer.

I used white card base and printed my sentiment (With Deep Sympathy) where I wanted it on the card. Then I used my Scor-Pal to make horizontal lines above and below the sentiment. Rotating the card, I then made diagonal lines avoiding the area with the sentiment. I used 2 Bazzil flowers with a small white flower and a large brad for some definition and attached with glue dots.

Remember the clock I showed you earlier? Well here is the matching magnet board...

This was a piece of scrap metal from hubby's job. I used my Crop-o-dile to punch the holes at the top. Then I primed and painted the board the same color as the clock. I left a little bit of white showing through just for a little bit of visual effect. I used the same stamp set as the clock (Delight in Life from Stampin' Up!) For the magnets, I stamped the small flower onto white cardstock then used Crystal Lacquer to attach the flat glass marble. Once that was dry, I glued a magnet to the back and now you have matching magnets! I have 2 more sheets that hubby brought home for me to create and I told him to bring me even more home, lol!

Project ... Part 1

This is a fun project that I made!! I really like how this turned out (although I broke the plastic cover). This was an old clock that we had floating around and I've been meaning to alter it for a long time. I finally had an idea on what to do with it ... and here is the result:

I painted the clock pink to match the centers of the flowers. The stamp set is Delight in Life from Stampin' Up! that I've had for awhile. I traced the center onto cardstock so I knew where to stamp then cut it out. I used my anywhere hole punch to punch where the hands go.

I Wanna Be a ... Superstar

I have been holding this one back for awhile. I was going to use it for a Design Team submission but decided that I wanted to show you! This is Superstar Anya from The Greeting Farm.

The layout is an older one from Sweet Sketch Wednesday. I colored the chipboard flower brown and added the turquoise flower and silver brad. Just for a little more fun I added Stickles to her boa. Doesn't she look like she is having fun?

The layout is an old one from Mojo Monday. This uses an older set from Stampin' Up that I've had for awhile called Delight in Life. Button Flower

This card was really fun! Ever since I found this image, I knew I wanted to create a card like this with lots of dimension. The flower is called Button Flowers from Squigglefly. I printed out the flower 2 times completely and then just the button part 6 times. The leaves and flowers are popped up on pop dots as well as the buttons. I punched holes where thread would go and put in some twine then tied. I also pinched the petals on the popped up flower for even more dimension.

The layout came from a new challenge blog called Bizzy Becs which will have it's first challenge on the 15th. This is the layout they want people to use to try out for their Design Team so I thought I would give it a try. It also fits several other challenges as well:

Squigglefly Challenge #13

This week it is Kim's turn to hostess the current challenge over on Squigglefly's blog. She asked us to create something with this Reindeer.

This one was more of a challenge to me for some reason. I tried several times but didn't like anything I created. Finally, I settled on a one-layer card. I printed the Reindeer on my cardstock and added a sentiment. He is colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with OMS. Then I added a red ribbon. I just love his blue eyes!

Moodles Birthday

I'd like to introduce you to Gregory, part of the Moodle's collection from Pollycraft.

I had planned to enter him on the Pollycraft Monday Challenge but forgot that I had to add food somewhere so I will enter him at Our Creative Corner for their color challenge. I followed the sketch (instead of flowers, I added large dew drops). This little guy is really cute but maybe a little too purple! I used a sponge dauber to add some purple to the edges.

The Sky's the Limit

Another card using Fly Away from The Greeting Farm. This one shows the hot air balloon floating among the clouds.

This one took me awhile as I had the balloon colored before I had the paper picked out. I had a hard time finding the right shade of pink and purple. I stamped the balloon and clouds more than once to pop them up for more dimension. Colored with Prisamcolor pencils and blended with OMS. The layout is from the challenge, here, over on Sketch and Stash Challenge blog. I added the white flowers and purple eyelets to enter it into a challenge over on Cute Card Thursday.

When Pigs Fly

The set I used for this card is Fly Away from The Greeting Farm. I won this one and I absolutely love it! Anyway, I had planned to enter it over on the Fresh Batch weekly challenge but I didn't get it posted in time.

I colored the cute pig with my Prismacolor pencils and blended with OMS. I stamped the balloons again on pink and cut out then pasted to the image. Added a yellow ribbon and 3 green buttons. I think it turned out cute! :) I'm going to enter this one for the challenge over on the Saturday Challenge blog.

Remember Rhonda gave us a great sketch to follow and I think it was fun!! Anyway, here is my card for the current challenge over on the Squigglefly blog.

This is Winston and Wendy. Don't they look like they are in love? :) Image was colored with my Prismacolor pencils and OMS (as always). I matted onto pink & green cardstock then I put 3 flowers on the top attached with yellow brads/eyelets ~ I'm not really sure what they are called because they really aren't brads nor are they really eyelets. Guess I shouldn't have thrown the container away, huh?

This is for an older Squigglefly challenge, here. Rhonda gave a challenge to use a square, an oval, glitter and ribbon. When I saw this witch on Squigglefly, I thought she was cute in a witchy way! LOL!

I knew I had to use orange and green (what witch doesn't have green skin?) plus I had to bling up her hair with some glitter! I used my Nestabilities square scallop die for the mat. I cut the witch's hat outside the box a little bit for a little more dimension. I used my Cuttlebug for the oval tag. The hardest part was cutting out the hat. I hope you enjoy!!

Sheep are just too cute! My mom and dad raise sheep and I know my mom has started collecting sheep things too! This card is for a challenge over on the Kaboodle Doodles blog called Buttons and Bows.

missmatch Ketto

This little cutie is from Stamping Bella & she is called missmatch Ketto.

I love the pink & green color combination and used it again here. The layout is from Bloggabella, here. I just rotated the sketch to fit with my heart paper. I have a few different stamped images from Stamping Bella that I really need to play with. I colored her with my Prismacolor pencils and blended with OMS (as always). Just for a tinch of bling, I added some stickles to the top of her crown. I really like this layout and will probably use it again.

Hi, everyone! Sorry I have been MIA for awhile but I've had a few issues going on that have kept me away from making cards.

This week over at Squigglefly Blog, Kim's challenge was to make a gender neutral baby card using shades of purple. This card uses Clarabell cow. Sorry about the picture color (it looks better IRL). I had a hard time getting this one to turn out as the front panel is a clear acetate sheet. The base is white cardstock with purple & white polkadot paper. Then I took the white mat and attached it to the inside of the acetate and the purple is attached to the front. Hello Sweet Baby is stamped onto the purple polkadot paper. White ribbon was added to cover the seam.

Christmas in July!!

I had so much fun with Kim's challenge for the Squigglefly blog that I decided to make another one ... there are lots of challenges going on now with Christmas in July as the theme.

This card uses the Seasonal Trees set from Squigglefly (this is a set of 4). Kim's challenge was a single layer card with just one embellishment. Before I printed the card, I typed Happy Holidays under the tree so it would all be one layer. I added glitter to the snowman and snow just for a little bling. My embellishment is the red ribbon. This card is for the challenge over on Stamp Something ... Christmas in July!

Squigglefly Challenge #9

Kim's challenge for her Squigglefly girls this week: Make a card with only one layer, meaning just your card base. We could add one embellishment of our choice. This was a fun one to do!!

My image is Ticky Fourth of Mewly. I printed him on half sheet of cardstock with the fold at the top. I added the sentiment on the computer before I printed. Ticky was colored with my Prismacolor pencils and OMS (as usual). Just to make the sparkler sparkle, I put some Stickles on. I added some red satin ribbon to the top for my embellisment.

This is Flutter Anya. Isn't she cute in all her pink? I added Stickles to her wings for that added bling. Pink and black paper with black and white ribbon ... lots of dots!! I matted Anya onto black cardstock cut with my Rectangle Scallop Nestabilities using my Cuttlebug. I then added white dots to the scallops.

June Raining!

I belong to the Magnolia-licious yahoo group and joined the Raining Group. There are groups of 24 and you commit to creating 4 cards per month for 6 months so each member of the group gets rained on during one month. I was lucky enough to be rained on during June and the cards I received were all absolutely unbelievable!

This is the card that I sent out during June to the other 3 members that were receiving rain using Butterfly Tilda. I also included a couple stamped images of Loving Edwin. I hope the girls enjoyed the cards and images I sent. Now I have to figure out what I'm going to do so I can rain on the lucky 4 during July.

Special News from Squigglefly

During the month of July, Squigglefly will be donating 50% of all sales in the "Animals" category to the ASPCA. The ASPCA is a humane organization seeking to eliminate cruelty to animals by removing them from cruelty situations and finding them new, loving, forever homes.

Our dog, Jake, was a rescue dog of sorts. We got him from a family down around the Lake of the Ozarks who had rescued him from an abusive situation. You can see scars on him, especially his legs. What Matt & I think happened is his previous owners were using him in fights. Jake is not a pit bull (which is what most people think when they see him), he is an almost solid white boxer. He is really good with the kids and loves play fighting with Matt. He has never bitten any of us. Most of the time he listens but he still has puppy in him. Our vet thinks he is about 2 years old. You can see another picture of him here.

Squigglefly Challenge #8

Rhonda's challenge this week was to create an ATC (artist trading card). I don't make too many of these. They are 3.5" x 2.5" in size so they are much smaller.

I used Wedding Bliss: Bride and Groom. In the picture below, you can see the smaller size. I placed my ATC in front of the picture I made previously using the same image. That is the great thing about digital stamps ... you can make them any size that you want!

For the ATC, I used some smaller cards that I had on hand. Mine are just a little bit bigger than the standard ATC size. I matted the Bride and Groom onto black cardstock which is layered onto burgundy Mulberry paper. I haven't used Mulberry paper in quite awhile and it was fun!
